Seeing life's events in the light of God's Word.

A Gardener’s Lesson

on October 17, 2021

Psalm 1:2, 3- (Blessed is the one) “whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.”

Plant guru, Val Russo, reminded Facebook friends in a recent post that correct watering is “half the battle” in caring for our house plants. Light conditions, air humidity, and temperature should also be considered if we want to help our plants thrive.

Psalm 1 reminds us that Christians who delight in our Lord and His Word, can be likened to plants that flourish and yield fruit.

The truths we learn from the scriptures help us grow. And we become fruitful when we share what we have learned with nonbelievers—sowing seeds of faith.

Once they profess faith in Christ and, in turn share with others, it doesn’t take long to grow a veritable “garden.”
